Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

Ice Age: The Meltdown opens today. Be sure to go and see it. Great movie to see with the little runts. And for those of you working on Pleistocene fossils, you'll be sure to enjoy all the weird and wonderful critters that make their premiere in this film. I saw the movie last night and I was able to spot some of the following taxa:

Megaloceros giganteus (giant elk)
Megatherium americanum (Giant sloth)
Macrauchenia patachonica (long-nosed looking camel thing)
Coelodonta antiquus (Wooly rhino)
Raphus cucullatus (the Dodo bird)
Diatryma gigantea (giant killer bird)

Moeritherium trigodon (kin to the elephant)

There were others too, but mentioning them might give away special scenes that I would rather you see for yourself. Enjoy. ;-)
