John H. Ostrom, a Yale University paleontologist who advanced the theory that birds descended from dinosaurs and was credited with the discovery of a small carnivorous dinosaur in 1964, has died. He was 77.Ostrom died Saturday of complications from Alzheimer's disease at an assisted living center in Litchfield, the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History said Tuesday.
